Zach, over at Our Art Site Dot Com, interviewed me recently and asked me some questions about my process. If you’re interested in what Journey song* I have on repeat, or which dance moves I ritualistically perform after I lay on the final brush stroke, you won’t find them here. We cover lots of other good stuff, though. Thanks Zach!

*Wheel In the Sky. Yeah!

Hi Aaron,
I’m a huge fan of your artwork, it’s really inspiring to me! I’m a budding painter as in, I’m thinking about trying my hand at painting for a living and getting down to some real creativity instead of just doing graphic design that gets thrown away relatively quickly.
I’ve actually had one painting up at Thinkspace for the Oddica Cotton to Canvas show so, I know I can do it, its just a matter of doing it.
I just read the interview and it’s really cool to see inside your process and technique a bit.
Anyway, just had a few questions for you if you had the time. One do you put any type of glaze or finish over your final paintings? Also what type of cool black frames are you using in those shots of the Art Dorks show?
So I guess my last question is about balancing your work with parenthood. I have a beautiful daughter as well and between my day job and being a dad, it’s tough to get and stay motivated, any tips, hints or ideas?
I think for one I need a cool studio space, right now I’m painting on the kitchen table, ha ha.
Anyway sorry for the long rambling email, I just wanted to say hi and let you know how amazing I think your work is Aaron, thanks for the inspiration, take care!
Best,
Paul M. Deisinger
